January 2022 Clinical Supervision Topic: Goal Consensus

Last month we talked about expectations. It was so good.

It’s a natural lead into talking about goal consensus, a topic worth re-visiting every year, because it’s often where things can go awry, and also where alliance can quickly be built (or re-built).

Before we jump into that though, what are your clinical goals for the year? Where do you want to see yourself at the end of 2022? What’s your energy, income, schedule, daily services, etc. all look like? Do you like what you’re doing? Want to change it? You know, I first wrote about this here. I’d love to know your thoughts on what you’re wanting for yourself clinically this year, and I’d love to know how I can better support you in this.

Ok, back to our topic of goal consensus. What is goal consensus? Here’s an article I love on it.

This month in supervision we’re doing something different. Instead of me presenting the topic to you, I’d love for each of you to bring one thing you’ve learned about goal consensus to share with the group. Feel free to use this article as inspiration, check out past posts I’ve written on it (here and here), or do your own digging on google, youtube, Instagram or various podcasts. Oh, or books! That’s always an option. :)

See you all soon.
